How to Care for Your Engagement Ring

How to Care for Your Engagement Ring

The best rule of thumb is to treat your engagement ring like the precious treasure it is! While normal wear and tear is inevitable, being careful and taking proper care of your engagement ring will help preserve its beauty for years to come.

Daily Wear & Precautions

  • Always remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, or sleeping.

  • Take off your jewelry before any activity that could bend, knock, or scratch them, such as exercising, cleaning, or lifting heavy objects. When in doubt, it’s safest to remove and store your jewelry.

  • Keep your jewelry away from chemicals or products that could damage it, including cleaning products, chemicals, perfume, lotions, soaps and makeup.

Special Care for Sensitive Stones

  • Some gemstones like emeralds, pearls and opals are particularly sensitive to liquids, chemicals and breaking upon impact. We recommend keeping these stones dry and away from any contaminants, and being extra careful during wear.

Cleaning & Storage

  • To clean your ring, simply scrub very gently with a soft toothbrush, warm water, and a touch of dish soap. Rinse and dry with a microfiber cloth. Doing this weekly will keep your ring sparkly and free of dirt build-up. Don't forget to get under the main stone!

  • Store your ring separately from other jewelry to avoid scratches. A fabric-lined box or case is ideal.

With a little care, your Castlefield Collection jewelry will maintain its sparkle and beauty for a lifetime!
